  • A Carnival of Color!

Last time we talked about the many advantages of using an all white color scheme. For this installment, I’d like to begin by quoting Monty Python, “And now for something completely different!”. This gorgeous, southern garden inspired wedding is positively dripping with saturated colors and we cannot get over it. Our friends and neighbors, Paisley and Jade and Lovebirds Events came together with the fabulous Rachel May Photography, to make it all happen.

Kelsey and Eli had a charming outdoor ceremony in central Virginia at Tuckahoe Plantation; one of our favorite venues near RVA. The plantation is rich in history and horticulture, the gardens have been blooming since the 1700’s! With a wedding color palette inspired by the sumptuous gardens all the around them, the perfect party stage was set.

  • What to do with a white wedding

Selecting wedding floral and decor can easily become overwhelming; with hundreds of colors and looks to choose from, where do you even start? The rising trend of using all white certainly makes coordinating simple, while creating a look that is classic, and always in season.

We love this color scheme (or lack thereof ) because, it’s just so flexible! Design choices and details will dictate the formality of the ambiance you create. Accessories like accent pearls, hanging crystals, tall clear vases, and satin fabrics will create a luxurious setting for your formal affair. If you prefer a more casual garden look, try incorporating paper details, lace ribbons and linens, wool fabric (for a winter wedding)and or wooden containers.

With such a vast selection of flowers available in white, it is important to consider the ‘temperature’ of your reception space. For a warmer appearance, let loose and use all shades of white, cream, ivory and egg shell. To keep things on the cooler side, consider using some of the foliage that come in shades of grey, Dusty Miller is our favorite!
