  • What to do with a white wedding

Selecting wedding floral and decor can easily become overwhelming; with hundreds of colors and looks to choose from, where do you even start? The rising trend of using all white certainly makes coordinating simple, while creating a look that is classic, and always in season.

We love this color scheme (or lack thereof ) because, it’s just so flexible! Design choices and details will dictate the formality of the ambiance you create. Accessories like accent pearls, hanging crystals, tall clear vases, and satin fabrics will create a luxurious setting for your formal affair. If you prefer a more casual garden look, try incorporating paper details, lace ribbons and linens, wool fabric (for a winter wedding)and or wooden containers.

With such a vast selection of flowers available in white, it is important to consider the ‘temperature’ of your reception space. For a warmer appearance, let loose and use all shades of white, cream, ivory and egg shell. To keep things on the cooler side, consider using some of the foliage that come in shades of grey, Dusty Miller is our favorite!

  • Floral Photo Booths

Photo Booths, whether DIY or rented, are becoming quite the wedding trend. While most couples choose to personalize their guests’ photo experience with crazy props and theme specific signs, floral backdrops are emerging as the new style for the upcoming wedding season. For a romantic feel, try a lace tablecloth or vintage fabric framed with a lush green and rose garland…

If you’re looking to make more of a statement with your backdrop, focus on deep, rich colors that will make your guests marvel at how beautifully they look framed in a bright bouquet of your wedding color scheme…

Another way to make your photo backdrop unique is to hang distinctive frames with a pop of flowers adorning each for an elegant contrast that allows your guests a multitude of poses…

No matter how you decide to decorate your photo booth or backdrop, know that you can’t go wrong with florals to create timeless portraits. Wherever your inspiration comes from, you can always convey your vision with flowers.

Whether you’re looking for a few fresh ideas to liven up your upcoming nuptials, a casual shindig or the social event of the season, consider all the possibilities to make your event unique. Are you hosting your reception outdoors under a tent? Try a suspended arrangement over your buffet, sweetheart table or dance floor. Love the look of arrangements so delicious you could eat? Consider incorporating beautiful vegetables into your vases and bouquets like kale, beets, fiddle-stick ferns and romanesco. Looking for a pop of color but your hue is florally out of season? Experiment with vivid fruits such as lemons, limes and oranges. Those options too tame for your cultured palate? Try something more exotic like kumquats, rambutan, pineapple and figs… read more

  • Limelight Hydrangeas

Limelight Hydrangea from our cutting garden.

From our garden to your bouquet, Limelight Hydrangeas are officially in season and they are gorgeous! Their large collection of flowers begin slightly off-white with an ever so delicate green hue that gradually turns darker with age. After a few weeks of blooming the white will fade almost completely to pale green. Because of their woody stems, these full proof beauties do not wilt like their more fragile ancestors the Lacecap and Snowball varieties… read more
